DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATION AND PARTNERSHIP STATEMENT

Covenant Leadership International Ministries is not a denomination or religious sect. Covenant Leadership International Ministries is distinctly a partnership as defined herein:

Partnership embraces all ministries, churches, individuals, or other constituents that acknowledges and accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Covenant Leadership International Ministries is also inclusive to all baptized believers who acknowledge and accept the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the autonomy of each church represented in Covenant Leadership International Ministries, and respect it as such. Those who are in covenant relationship and partnership with Covenant Leadership International Ministries do not have to change the name of the church where they worship, but it is believed and expected that the pastor and leader should claim and/or announce its affiliation or partnership with Covenant Leadership International Ministries.

Partnership Statement

Due to the enormous growth expected from Covenant Leadership International Ministries there will be instances that questions are asked that cannot be answered adequately by the individual leader. In cases, such as these, the immediate question should be directed to the pastor of the church the individual is covenantly connected to. In the event that the pastor cannot sufficiently satisfy the question, the pastor can refer the question to one of the members of the General Overseer Council of Covenant Leadership International Ministries.

All questions and/or issues relating to a particular church or leadership position should be referred to the pastor of the church first, and the pastor can direct all inquires to the General Overseer Council of Covenant Leadership International Ministries. It is crucial that all pertinent information relative to any concerns or issues be on file with the General Overseer Council.

It is also expected that the General Overseers Council communicate to and inform all pastors and leaders who are covenant partners with Covenant Leadership International Ministries of necessary information to keep them informed and involved in the partnership process and commitment to Covenant Leadership International Ministries.
It is the emphasis of the General Overseers Council that Covenant Leadership International Ministries is a family and it is expected that the communication of information be duly and diligently sent to all participating pastors and leaders.

Standards for Leadership

Much is required of the leadership of Covenant Leadership International Ministries. Not only are the leaders of the Partnership anointed to do the Godly work of the Kingdom, but in order to be effective in the role he/she must also become the picture of integrity, honesty, respect and leadership when walking in the role of a leader.

The actions, respect and life of the leader become more of an open perspective as elevation has taken place in their life. It is expected for all leaders of the Partnership to walk and live above and beyond human standards in order to be an example of Jesus Christ.

Though it is possible, it is sometimes difficult, it is expected that leaders are to be the role models and spiritual examples to those to whom they lead as well as in the capacity that they serve. As the visibility and notability of the leader increases, it is significant that the lifestyle exemplify a life of Holiness that is acceptable to God. The leader is expected to develop a life of discipline before appointment and become even stronger after appointment. It is the sustenance of the Holy Spirit that enables the leader to walk in the expected Holiness that is required by Christ in the lives of all His followers.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe the full gospel includes the proclamation of both the eternal power of Calvary and the potential power of Pentecost; the baptizing Power of Jesus Christ for salvation because of Calvary and the filling/controlling power of the Holy Spirit for service and holy victorious living because of Pentecost (Acts 1:8; 20:17).

2. We believe in the perpetuity and continuing ecclesiastical value of all spiritual gifts for the edification of believers and the Body of Christ until the end of this church age is consummated by the glorious event; the return of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 12:14; 13:10; Romans 12:3-7; Ephesians 4:11,12).

3. We believe in the divine personhood of the Holy Spirit and His present day ministry to believers, which includes the sovereign distribution of Spiritual Gifts to believers for empowerment for service in the contemporary church (1 Corinthians 12).

4. We believe in Jesus Christ as the sovereign giver of Spiritual Gifts to the church. We believe that Spiritual Gifts are given for the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the Body of Christ and are given without regard to ethnicity, social class or gender (Ephesians 4:7-12; Galatians 3:26-28).

5. We believe in the autonomy of the local church as an independent entity with regard to matters of government, policy operation and discipline. (1 Corinthians 5:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 14-15; Acts 6:3-5, 11:22, 14:23; Titus 1:5).

6. We believe in the value of biblical terminology of leadership in the contemporary church: Bishop, Overseer, Pastor, Elder, Minister and Deacon. We believe that all of these designations are for servant-leaders (Jeremiah 3:15; Acts 20:28; 2 Corinthians 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:1-7).

7. We believe in the formal, intentional praise and worship of almighty God as a proper spirit-led corporate acknowledgement and response to His person and work (Psalms 46-50, John 4:23).

8. We believe in Jesus Christ as the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit. Whereby He, by means of the Holy Spirit, brings men and women at salvation into relationship with Himself and His Body, the church It is in fact the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that makes one part of the Body of Christ. All believers have been baptized by Christ with the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; John 1:33; 1 Corinthians 12:13).

Statement of Faith Continued:

9. We believe in the dwelling of the Holy Spirit for all Christians. It is in fact, this indwellling of the Holy Spirit that verifies and validates the believer as a part of the Body of Christ, for He only indwells believers (Romans 8:14-27).

10. We believe the spirit-filled life as desirable, valuable and an issue of obedience for all believers who are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that within the Body of Christ, the term “filled” with the Holy Spirit is often used interchangeably with the term “Baptism of the Holy Ghost.” The controlling presence and power of the Holy Ghost as a result of the alternation of terms. We believe it is the will and command of God that every believer be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

11. We believe all believers are exhorted to be filled, walk in, be led by and live in the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:16,18,25).

12. We believe that it is God’s desire that all believers live their lives under the control of or being continuously filled with the Holy Spirit. We believe there are many fillings and there is to be an ongoing filling ministry of the Spirit in the life of the believer for empowerment to effectively and victoriously live a life that glorifies God (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 3:10; 4:8,31).

13. We believe that the Holy Spirit fills or empowers believers for service in the Kingdom of God. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is the result of continuing submission to Divine power and control (Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18).

14. We believe all believers are baptized with the Holy Spirit and all believers “should be” filled with the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 5:18).

15. We believe in the Baptism and Filling of the Holy Spirit is a distinct, separate, valid and valuable ministry of the Holy Spirit, which may occur simultaneously at salvation. Being filled with the Holy Spirit may and should occur subsequent to salvation in obedience to biblical exhortation. Being filled with the Holy Spirit should not only be a continuous reality, but an ongoing characteristic of the believers consecrated holiness.
